If you are 18+, you are welcome to come ride with the team! Family members of student riders as well as adults in the community are welcome to sign up as coaches.
We need a ratio of one coach for every six riders at every practice, so it takes a bunch of volunteers to make every practice happen. NICA coaches get training in coaching and will be matched with ride groups of their comfort level and ability. You don’t have to be able to attend every practice to coach, and we would love to include you as a Provo MTB Coach.
If you think, “I’m not a good enough mountain biker to coach,” we want you! The most important thing about being a Provo MTB coach is that you’re stoked to help kids stay safe, have fun, find acceptance, and grow. The skills will come, and you’ll work with a ride group you’re comfortable with. So, if you’re excited to help kids become excellent humans, you’ll make a great coach.
New Coaches: fill out the form below for each coach/adult that would like to participate. We will send you a registration invite from the NICA registration system (affectionately know as the Pit Zone).
Returning Coaches: returning coaches should already have a Pit Zone account and you can login here. If you have an trouble, contact us and we will help you out.
Everyone: after registering as a coach NICA, you will need to pay the league fee of $25 and complete a background check (the Pit Zone will guide you through this process). Once your background check has cleared, you will receive instructions from NICA on how to complete your coach training. Please complete your training before the start of the season.
